A wonderful life lesson I learned today

Today I have learned a lesson. We were 2 friends discussing God. I believe in God, but my friend doesn’t believe in God. He asked me, “Can you show me God?” I replied to him, I can’t show you God.

How could I show him God when God is not in the materialistic form? If we can’t see God through our physical eyes, it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t exist. We can’t see air through our physical eyes; does that mean air doesn’t exist? Of course not. Our physical eyes and our physical senses are limited. We can only see and sense a limited number of things. The things we can’t see through our physical eyes don’t mean that they do not exist.

The interesting thing was he wanted me to believe in the non-existence of God, and I also wanted him to believe in the existence of God. We both were trying to explain our own points of view. But, later we both noticed that the conversation was turning into an unsatisfied conversation. So, we both decided to stop the discussion.

After some time we both met again in the market. And I told him not to get upset about our previous conversation. He told me the same. He also told me that he learned a wonderful lesson from this conversation. He was thanking me again and again. I asked him, “First, tell me what lesson you have learned?” He said he learned that he shouldn’t tell anyone what to do and what not to do because everyone has free will.

After hearing this sentence from him, I was like, Wow! I didn’t think about that; this lesson is for me too.

The lesson we both learned from this:  never tell people what to do and what not to do. Never try to force people to believe what you believe. We all have free will to believe what we like to believe. We all have the right to choose our thoughts and beliefs.

We both were blessed with this wonderful life lesson. I am grateful to my God; I am grateful to my friend. After this, our friendship relationship has become better than before.
